Warner Point Nature Trail
What to Expect
Safety Advisory
The overlook at Warner Point has no railings or barriers — the cliff edge is abrupt and the drop is fatal. Keep children close and watch your footing, especially if it's windy.
Lightning is a serious threat on this exposed ridgeline during summer afternoon storms. If you hear thunder or see clouds building, turn back immediately — you're the tallest thing out there.

Pro Tips
Hit this trail in the first two hours after sunrise when the canyon walls glow orange and the overlook is empty — by mid-morning, day-trippers from the road pulloffs start filtering in.
There's no water or shade shelter along the route, so carry at least a liter per person and wear a hat — the high-desert sun at seven thousand feet is deceptively intense even on cool days.
The overlook at Warner Point faces roughly southwest, which makes late afternoon another prime window for photography — the low-angle light carves dramatic shadows across the canyon's layered walls.
