Moses and Zeus
What to Expect
Safety Advisory
Getting to the trailhead requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle on rough backcountry roads — do not attempt in a sedan or after rain, when the clay turns to grease.
There is zero shade and zero water on this trail. In summer, exposed slickrock can reach surface temperatures hot enough to blister skin through thin-soled shoes.
The scramble sections have real exposure near the base of the spires — a slip on loose sand over slickrock could mean a nasty fall.

Pro Tips
The trailhead is an unmarked pulloff on Taylor Canyon Road (a rough 4WD track off the Flint Trail) — set a GPS waypoint before you go, because you will not find a sign.
Late afternoon light turns Moses and Zeus into absolute fire — plan to arrive two hours before sunset for the best color on the spires, and carry a headlamp for the walk back.
The route up is not always obvious; look for cairns and follow the path of least resistance up the slickrock benches rather than trying to bushwhack through the brush.
