Buckeye Trail: Everett Covered Bridge to Botzum Trailhead
What to Expect
Safety Advisory
The rocky northern section has exposed roots and uneven footing that can be slippery when wet — ankle-supportive footwear beats trail runners here, especially after rain.
No pets allowed on this section of the Buckeye Trail, so leave the dog at home or choose a different route in the park.

Pro Tips
This is a one-way trail, so arrange a car shuttle or bike drop at Botzum Trailhead before you start. Alternatively, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad stops near both ends — check the schedule and let the train handle your return trip.
Start from the Everett Covered Bridge end heading south so you front-load the rocky, hilly section while your legs are fresh and finish on the easy flat stretch as a cooldown.
Pause at Everett Covered Bridge before or after your hike — it's a stunner in fall color season and one of the few remaining covered bridges in Summit County. Morning light filtering through the bridge opening is worth arriving early for.
