Trailer Village RV Park - South Rim
The Quick Take
Trailer Village is the Grand Canyon's answer to a parking lot with a view — and honestly, that's not a knock. It's the only spot inside the park where you can plug in your RV with full hookups, which makes it the default choice for anyone towing serious hardware. The paved pull-through sites handle rigs up to fifty feet, and the location puts you within walking distance of Market Plaza and the rim itself. The trade-off is atmosphere: expect tight spacing, asphalt underfoot, and the hum of generators rather than the sound of wind through ponderosa pines. At roughly eighty-five dollars a night, it's a premium you're paying purely for location and convenience. If you want nature immersion, book Mather Campground next door. But if you're driving a Class A and want to wake up minutes from the South Rim without boondocking on forest roads, this is your only in-park option — and it knows it.

Pro Tips
Book exactly thirteen months out if you're visiting between May and October. Trailer Village fills fast because it has zero competition for in-park full-hookup RV sites. Set a calendar reminder for your target date and book the day the window opens.
If you arrive after the registration kiosk closes at six, your site assignment will be posted on the welcome building door — but only if you have a guaranteed reservation. Without one, you're gambling on leftovers posted on a sign out front, and during peak season that sign often says nothing at all.
No wood fires allowed here, only charcoal — so bring a bag of briquettes and skip the bundle-of-firewood stop. Also note that vehicle washing is banned due to water shortages, so resign yourself to a dusty rig until you leave the park. The camp store and laundry are on-site, but showers are not, so plan to use the facilities at Mather Campground nearby.
