Mildred Point Trail
What to Expect
Safety Advisory
The overlook at Mildred Point has exposed edges with no railings — keep a firm grip on kids and stay well back from the drop-off, especially when rocks are wet.
Fallen trees across the trail are common in early season before maintenance crews clear the route — check with the Longmire Wilderness Information Center for current conditions.

Pro Tips
Pair this with the Trail of the Shadows loop at Longmire for a satisfying half-day of easy hiking — the two trailheads are close together and complement each other well.
The viewpoint faces south and west, so afternoon light is your friend for photography. Morning visits get deep shade at the overlook but beautiful filtered light in the forest.
This trail sees a fraction of the traffic that Paradise trails get — visit midweek and you may have Mildred Point entirely to yourself, even in July and August.
