Cinnamon Bay Nature Loop And Accessible Trail
What to Expect
Safety Advisory
The loop section has uneven footing over roots and loose stones — watch your step, especially after rain when everything gets slick in the tropical humidity.
Mosquitoes and no-see-ums are aggressive in the shaded grove sections, particularly during dawn and dusk. Long sleeves or repellent are not optional here.
Trail Details
- 1
Arrive early morning before the beach crowd fills up Cinnamon Bay — the parking area serves both the trail and one of St. John's most popular beaches, and by 10 a.m. it's a free-for-all.
- 2
Crush a bay rum leaf and rub it on your skin as you walk — it's a natural insect deterrent and smells far better than anything from a spray can. The trees are clearly marked along the loop.
- 3
Pair this trail with a visit to Cinnamon Bay beach afterward — the ruins sit just steps from the sand, so you can do your history lesson first and reward yourself with a swim in water so clear it looks photoshopped.
