Natural Bridge Trail
What to Expect
Safety Advisory
The switchback trail to the overlook near the top of the bridge is short but surprisingly steep and can be slippery when wet — watch your footing, especially with kids in tow.
This area sees regular bear activity in summer and fall. Carry bear spray, make noise on the forested section, and check recent ranger postings at Bridge Bay for any trail closures.

Pro Tips
Start from the Bridge Bay Marina area rather than driving the service road — the forest section of the trail is the most pleasant part, and you'll miss it entirely if you shortcut by bike or vehicle.
Visit in late morning when the sun angles through the arch and lights up the creek below — the contrast between shadowed rhyolite and bright water makes for dramatically better photos than the flat light you'll get at midday.
Combine this with a stop at the nearby Bridge Bay shoreline on Yellowstone Lake afterward. The trailhead proximity to the marina means you can knock out a short hike and still have time for a lakeside picnic without driving anywhere.
